PACKING FOR AIR FREIGHT

Air freight has become ever more important in transcontinental transport during the last few years. Packer must agree beforehand on the following aspects:

•    mass
•   dimensions and centre of gravity of the packaging good
•    pressure on square meter
•   airline and type of aeroplane chosen for the transport
•   route and sites chosen for storage and transshipment

• hygroscopic properties

• vibration sensitivity of the goods

• sensitivity of packaging goods to vibrations and temperature and pressure changes during transportation

Additional the individual air hauliers often impose their own rules on delivery and packaging which should be respected.

The norms applied by KADOR are in conformity with the air hauliers’ demands as well as with IATA norms (International Air Transport Association).
